Visa Validity vs. Duration of Stay

For tourist visas:

• •Validity: Matches exact dates on your invitation (e.g., June 1–30)
• •Duration of stay: Up to 30 days
• •You MUST enter on or after the start date and leave by the end date
• •There is NO flexibility — even one day late entering means the visa is wasted

For business visas (multi-entry):

• •Validity: 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year from issue date
• •Duration of stay: Maximum 90 days in any 180-day period
• •You can enter and exit multiple times within the validity period
• •But total days inside Russia cannot exceed 90 in any rolling 180-day window

For e-visas:

• •Validity: 60 days from issue date
• •Duration of stay: 16 days maximum
• •Single entry only — once you leave, the visa expires

Overstaying consequences:

• •Fine of 2,000–7,000 RUB
• •Possible detention
• •Entry ban (3–10 years depending on duration of overstay)
• •Deportation at own expense
