Russian Visa Application Online

Before you can even start the online application form, you need a visa invitation. For tourists, this is a Tourist Voucher and Confirmation. For business travelers, it's a Business Invitation. You will need the reference number and confirmation number from this document to complete the official form.

Go to the official Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (visa.kdmid.ru). Select your country and language, create a password, and save your Application ID. Fill out all sections accurately, matching the details exactly as they appear on your passport and invitation.

Print the completed form. Glue (do not staple) a 3.5 x 4.5 cm color passport photo to the designated box. Sign and date the form in black or blue ink. Gather your original passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your exit date with 2 blank pages) and your printed invitation.

Find the nearest Russian Consulate or authorized Russian Visa Center. Most locations require you to book an appointment online in advance. Walk-ins are rarely accepted.

Attend your appointment. Submit your document package and pay the required consular fees (and service fees if using a Visa Center). Processing typically takes 5-10 business days, after which you can collect your passport with the visa affixed inside.
